Billionaire Bill Gates recently attempted to make the Indian staple dish of roti in a video with celebrity chef Eitan Bernath.
Eitan posted the video on Twitter and wrote, “@BillGates and I had a blast making Indian Roti together. I just got back from Bihar, India where I met wheat farmers whose yields have increased thanks to new early sowing technologies and women from “Didi Ki Rasoi” canteens who shared their expertise in making Roti.”
In the video, Gates is seen making the roti with Bernath, but unfortunately, the rotis did not turn out to be perfectly round, a requirement for all Indian moms according to popular belief. However, despite not being able to make round rotis, Gates did admit that the rotis tasted good.
Bill Gates is currently focused on his family, health, AI, and climate change. In a recent statement, the Microsoft co-founder mentioned his desire to continue working on projects he started over two decades ago, intending to give back the majority of his resources to society.
“I’m still going full speed on the project I began more than two decades ago, which is to give the vast majority of my resources back to society,” he wrote.
The video of Gates attempting to make roti is a testament to his curious nature and willingness to learn new skills, even at the age of 67. It also highlights the cultural significance of roti in India and the high standards that are set for the dish.
