  • Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square dish.
  • Sprinkle the fruit salt over the batter and pour 2 tablespoons of oil over it.
  • Place the dish in a steamer and steam for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the dhokla comes out clean.
  • Let the dhokla cool for 5 minutes before slicing into squares.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or ketchup.

Variations:

  • Add fresh herbs such as coriander or mint to the batter for additional flavor.
  • Mix in grated carrots or other vegetables to the batter for a healthier twist.
